BATON ROUGE, LA -
A clothes dryer caught fire inside a house in East Baton Rouge Parish, according to the St. George Fire
Department. The department said in a statement crews were called at 7:11 a.m. to the scene in the 13700 block of Rampart Court. Firefighters
extinguished the fire before removing the dryer from the house and clearing smoke using fans. The house received smoke damage.

The home where three people were killed is demolished. The house has been empty since the fire. 20-year-old Linsey Parsley, her 3-year-old
son Robert Parsley, and Linsey's boyfriend 20-year-old Alex Snedeker died when the upstairs apartment they were living in caught fire. The fire

Neighbors helped rescue a man trapped inside his house from a fire. They managed to coax the man down from a second-floor balcony, after his
dryer caught fire, filling the home with smoke. He was taken away on a stretcher, after three
neighbors helped him jump to safety. The fire caused a lot of smoke and fire damage to the house. The man was taken to a
hospital. Smoke and flames damaged both floors of the house.

A dryer fire led to the evacuation of a condominium building off Falcon Ridge Way North. According
to Hamburg Fire Chief Bill Oehler, the department received the fire call around 6:45 p.m. "When I arrived the police were evacuating the
entire building," he said. That's when we found out that it was a dryer fire. "The homeowner had tried to put it out and was
unsuccessful. We were able to extinguish it," he said.

A family of four evacuated a house when a clothes dryer ignited. About 60 firefighters
from Roxbury and three of its mutual aid towns -- Woodbury, Bridgewater and Washington -- responded to the scene to attack the flames, Roxbury

A clothes dryer fire broke out inside of a home on Sierra Vista Avenue Friday morning. Fire
crews put out the flames, and there were no injuries, according to the Mountain View Fire Department. The fire was discovered around 6 a.m.
inside the garage, according to fire spokeswoman Jamie Garrett. The residents were able to subdue the fire with an extinguisher until fire crews
arrived. Garrett said it's important to frequently clean out the lint catcher, and clean out the ventilation of the dryer once a year.

A dryer that burst into flames caused $15,000 worth of damage at an Ypsilanti home Friday
night. Ypsilanti fire crews were called at 10:30 p.m. for the blaze, according to Captain Richard Barnabo. "The dryer and
some clothes around it were on fire," he said. A neighbor had unsuccessfully attempted to extinguish the fire with an extinguisher
before crews arrived. Firefighters contained the blaze to the laundry room, Barnabo said. There was $11,000 damage to the home
and $4,000 in damages to the contents, Barnabo said.

Mid-Columbia Fire and Rescue chief Robert Palmer said the cause of the fire was lint in the clothes
dryer or the vent and while it didn't extend beyond the laundry room, there was smoke damage throughout the home. The clothes
in the dyer were burned as well as material on top of the dryer. Palmer said home owners should pull out the dyer every six months
to clean out the vent. He estimated the damage was between $25,000 and $30,000.

A Friday morning fire displaced a family of five. At 8:48 a.m., the Independence Fire Department responded to what was called a
dryer fire. Battalion Chief Brad Waterworth said the fire had spread through the
laundry room and into the kitchen but was extinguished within five minutes of the call after Station 1 responded. The laundry
room was destroyed, the kitchen received extensive damage and there was smoke damage throughout the residence, Waterworth said.

Four people had to find a new place to stay after a fire broke out in their basement. Firefighters say it happened at a home just after 1:30
Thursday morning. They say the fire started in the dryer of the basement. "The flames were reaching the ceiling when they exited

HASTINGS, NE -
The Hastings Fire Department was dispatched to the residence shortly before 7:30 a.m. Smoke was coming from the basement of the home when
they arrived. According to Fire Chief Kent Gilbert, a fire sparked in the family's dryer. "When
we got here we found that clothes had been burning in the dryer in the basement. The family was able to get out of the building and evacuate,"

Firefighters battled a house fire in the City of Monroe with heavy smoke that filled the neighborhood. Thick smoke billowed from
the roof of the three-story house as firefighters from the city and Monroe Township sprayed water from both inside and outside. The

A Wednesday morning fire has left two residents of a West Duluth apartment building homeless. The Duluth Fire Department says crews

Seven people were displaced from their home following a fire that began in a clothes dryer and spread to
the home's structure. Stan Hawkins, who owns the house, said his renters include a couple with five children. The family may be out for as
long as six weeks while a restoration company deals with the damages. "The fire was contained to the garage and the laundry, but there was
smoke throughout (the house)," he said. St. George Fire Department Capt. Rob Hooper said emergency responders received a page at stating
there was a fire in the dryer. When a first responder arrived, he observed smoke and flames coming from the garage. Five engines responded
with 25 firefighters, and the blaze was contained and then extinguished within about 15 to 20 minutes, Hooper said. Hooper said some of the
home's occupants were treated for smoke inhalation. Hooper estimate the home suffered about $25,000 in damage.

Two women escaped unharmed from their burning home. The fire broke out at around 2:30 a.m., destroying the two-story house. "It's a total
loss," said Chief Chad Evans of Manor fire department. The fire originated in a clothes dryer, Evans

One person suffered minor burns when a dryer caught fire. Deputy Fire
Chief Ed Cann said the occupant was in the house when the dryer erupted in flames, and suffered burns attempting to put
the blaze out before the Fire Department arrived. The department had a five minute response time and was able to
contain the fire to just the dryer. "Within about 10 more minutes the house would have been involved in flames,"
he said. "It's extremely important to empty the lint tray before every load of laundry, and on occasion open the front
of the dryer and vacuum around the motor and the heat source." Cann said that the entire ductwork system leading completely
outside of the house should be cleaned every few months in order to ensure there is nothing flammable left in the system.

Alice Firefighters responded to a garage fire on the 1600 block of Reynolds. Lint built
up behind the dryer and caught fire when the dryer was in use, Alice Fire Chief Dean Van Nest stated. "This shows the importance of having a lint hose and keeping

Three firefighters were injured Friday night after a dryer caught fire in an apartment, officials

Three families were uprooted from their home after a fire ripped through both floors. Fire investigators with Colorado Springs Fire Department
say the fire was caused by a build up of lint in the clothes dryer. Investigators say the lint
got clogged in the vent pipe that goes from the dryer to the outside of the home. The fire caused "significant damage throughout the house,"
Lt. Kriss Soppe told 11 News. "Smoke was very heavy and we've had also some interior structural collapse which makes it a lot more dangerous for the
firefighters inside," Soppe explained. The fire department says four of six family pets perished.

Overheated clothing in a dryer caused a fire that damaged a home on Sunday night. Thomaston
Fire Chief Mike Leo said it is not the first time that he has seen clothing catch fire after rubbing against a dryer's heating element. In

A resident woke to the smell of smoke, called 911 and got out of house. Dallas Bay VFD arrived at the scene to find
a dryer on fire. Marcus Frits, Chief of Dallas Bay, was first in
scene. Frits was able to knock the flames down. Other members of Dallas bay helped carry the dryer that
was still on fire out of the house. Damage is about $5,000.

outside and told firefighters that the dryer was on fire in the basement. "Crews

A Greenwood, Mo., woman needs to find a new place to live after a fire gutted her home. Firefighters say the
home went up in flames in seconds and started in the clothes dryer. The woman at 1305 Tyler Lane told police when her dryer ignited, she
rushed outside, and within moments, she was homeless. Clothes dryers cause 15,000 fires a year, more than any other cause. This time of year,
birds are also a big factor. They often build nests in vents, which can cause blockage and lead to a fire. Dryer fires result in $90 million
in home damage every year across the U.S., according to the CPSC.

A pet parrot and cat have been killed in a Oswaldtwistle house fire. They died after a dryer caught
fire in the front room of a home in Frederick Street. Two dogs, believed to be a Jack Russell and a terrier, were rescued by firefighters
from Accrington Fire Station. Firefighters wore breathing masks to enter the middle-aged woman's terraced home and rescue the two dogs. The
front room was badly damaged by fire, while the remainder of the house suffered severe smoke damage, Mr Drinkwater added.

A home was damaged after a fire started in a clothes dryer, according to a Toppenish Fire
Department news release. Firefighters said a smoke detector alerted a 13-year-old boy who was inside with his three brothers, while
their parents were away at work. The boy went to the laundry room and found the dryer in flames, which spread quickly. The
brothers left the house and called 911. According to the news release, firefighters contained the fire to the utility room and
bathroom. Part of the attic was also damaged. Damage is estimated between $35,000 and $40,000.

A clothes dryer ignited a fire that caused $150,000 damage and displaced both of the house's
residents, fire officials say. Two vehicles burned in the garage and the entire house sustained smoke damage, Chino Valley Fire

A house fire that investigators say started because of a clothes dryer has displaced four people from their
home. The first responding unit saw heavy smoke coming from the wood frame house and called for additional units. Crews were able to get the fire
under control. The kitchen, living room, and attic received heavy fire damage, with smoke and heat damage to the rest of the house. Four were

A Brevard family lost their home Friday morning in a dryer fire. Chief Craig Budzinski with
the Brevard Fire Department says the fire sparked at 10 a.m. in the laundry room. Of the seven living in the home, five family members were

A little before 3:30 p.m., residents and students in class rooms in Hubbard Hall heard the familiar sound of a fire alarm ringing throughout the
building. "I thought it was a drill at first, to be honest," said mechanical engineering freshman Cameron Ploss. Then he left
his dorm to see a hallway, the fourth floor of South Hubbard Hall, filled with smoke. Lt. Chuck Gagnier, of East Lansing Fire Department,
said that the fire was a common dryer fire, and that the fire department was able to quickly put
the fire out. However, the smoke did not stay isolated in the basement, finding a way to climb to the top of the building through the
ventilation system. An hour and a half after the alarm was first pulled, residents were allowed back into South Hubbard Hall.
